๐ Getting Here: Location & Parking for The Metro Hall
The Metro Hall is located at 759 Carnarvon Street in the heart of downtown New Westminster, making it one of the most accessible and central event venues in the city. We’re located directly across the street from the New Westminster SkyTrain Station, right above the vibrant shops of Bridal Row, and just below the main campus of Douglas College. Planning to drive? We recommend Impark Downtown Parkade #602 — a spacious three-story parking structure conveniently located kitty-corner to our front entrance. There’s also plenty of metered street parking nearby, plus a taxi stand directly across the street, making arrivals and late-night exits a breeze. Whether you're coming by transit, foot, or car, getting to The Metro couldn’t be easier.

โฟ Accessibility at The Metro
โAt The Metro Hall, we are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming experience for all guests. While our historic venue offers charm and character, it also presents some accessibility challenges due to its multi-level design.
Upon entering through the main front doors, guests pass through two sets of double glass doors (each 36" wide) into our lobby. From there, access to the rest of the venue involves staircases:
-
To reach the Hollywood Ballroom, there are three steps up to a landing with two single-use bathrooms—one is a dedicated all-gender space with a locking door, and the other includes a standard-sized locking stall. From this landing, there is a staircase with 10 steps leading to the ballroom. The staircase is 6 feet wide with sturdy handrails on both sides.
-
To reach the Glam Lounge, guests continue up an additional 10 stairs via the same wide staircase. The Glam Lounge is accessed through double fire-suppression doors (each 36" wide). On this level, there are two washrooms: one on the left with 4 urinals and 2 stalls, and one on the right with 6 standard stalls.
-
To reach the Balcony, guests pass through a single 36" door and ascend 7 narrower stairs (36" wide).
-
Emergency exits from the balcony are located stage right and stage left:
-
Stage right exit: a straight hallway to a fire door, then 7 stairs up to a push-door exit with a 6" step down to the alley.
-
Stage left exit: similar, but without a step down at the final exit.
-
At this time, the venue does not offer elevator or lift access to the upper levels, including the Hollywood Ballroom, Glam Lounge, or Balcony. We recognize this may present a barrier for some guests and are committed to doing what we can to support accessibility with the current layout of this historic building.
