Is The Metro a Liquor Licensed Facility?

No, the Metro is not a licensed faciity, however, we are happy to assist you with mobile bar services including licensed servers, assistance with liquor licensing application, planning/purchasing, all glasswear, garnishes and bar provisions by quotation.

Alternatively, you are welcome to apply for a special occassion license at your local liquor store in conjunction with the New Wesminster Police Department.

A special occassion liquor license typically costs around $25 for a private event and $100 for a public event.

Hosts may also be required to present a valid "Serving it Right" license with your application.   You can complete the Serving it Right exam online for approx. $35. 

The nearest liquor store is located at 1075 Columbia Street.

The New West Police Department is located at 555 Columbia Street.

Important note:

In New Westminster, you must apply for your liquor license a minimum of 7 business days prior to your event in order to be considered for approval.

My event is for Profit.  Do I need a business license?

Yes, "every business in the City of New Westminster is required to have a valid business license before beginning operation. This includes home-based businesses, commercial and industrial operations and owners of apartment rental properties. Business licenses are also required for companies that are not located in the City but do work within New Westminster such as contractors."

New Westminster City hall is located at 511 Royal Avenue.

In New Westminster, you must apply for a business license a minimum of 14 days prior to your event in order to be considered for approval.
